Conformations and some electronic properties of the 2,2′-bisindolyls 6 were calculated for the prediction of probable Diels-Alder reactivity, in analogy to previous work on 2-vinylindoles. First reactions with dienophiles revealed that compounds 6 did not participate in [4 + 2]cycloadditions but rather underwent simple electrophilic substitutions at the enamine function with, above all, some heterodienophiles. Mechanical and thermal behaviour of networks with “flexible” and “rigid” chains

“Rigid-rod” telechelics were synthesized via repetitive Diels-Alder reaction of biscyclohexadienes and bis(1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-diones). The bistriazolinediones were used in slight excess. The rigidity of the building blocks and the molecular weight were varied. Various amounts of these reactive telechelics are used to crosslink cis-1,4-polybutadiene. The mechanical and the thermal properties of these two-component networks were investigated by stress-strain, differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic-mechanical measurements. The occurrence of microphase separation between the “rigid” and the “flexible” components is discussed to explain the properties of these materials.

Due to the double bond of their allylic moiety, easily functionalisable, they are commonly used in organic synthesis. This research work deals with the synthesis of homoallylic amines thanks to titanium complexes. The reaction of 3-benzoyl-5-perfluoroalkyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles with hydrazine has been investigated, evidencing the possibility of competitive reaction paths. Nucleophilic addition of the hydrazine to the electrophilic C(5) of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring, followed by ring opening and ring closure with enlargement, leads with high yield and in very mild experimental conditions to the formation of Z-oximes of 3-perfluoroalkyl-6-phenyl-2H-1,2,4-triazin-5-ones (11a-c) as major products of the reaction. Two triazole derivatives with phosphonic acid as pendent group, namely [3-(4-phenyl-[1–3]triazol-1-yl)-propyl]-phosphonicaciddiethylester (PTP) and [3-[4-(4-dimethylamino-phenyl)-[1–3]triazol-1-yl]-propyl]-phosphonic acid diethylester (DMPTP) were synthesized and fully characterized using NMR spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry, Infra-Red (FT-IR) spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
